Music 4 Mandy

Mandy has been hospitalized and is currently in the ICU Ward. She is suffering from sepsis and in a fairly critical condition. Our family would appreciate any and all prayers. Thank you and God bless.

UPDATE…BED IS FINALLY REPAIRED!!!  STILL TRYING TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE REPAIR WHICH WAS $1600

As many are aware, Mandy’s specialized hospital bed began to fail several months ago and now it has completely shut down.  We have been desperate to find someone that was qualified and willing to do the needed repairs and FINALLY we have found a technician.  Only problem is that the repair will be VERY COSTLY.  We have been told the repairs will be at least $1,500 and possibly much more.

We are hopeful that God will bring willing donors forward to help us get this done.  The technician is planning on travelling to see Mandy’s bed the week of October 24th and we are praying we can raise the funds by then.  We were blessed when this $49k bed was bought through a donation from our late friend, Chris Coleson.  It was used and only a fraction of that new cost, but has all of the very necessary functions Mandy needs to stay healthy.  Our family thanks everyone for the continued prayers and blessings sent our way.

A big thank you to my cousin Lisa for organizing a benefit concert today for Mandy in Virginia. The Baker family hails from that area and we still have family there, like Lisa (who, by the way, is also in one of the bands performing today).

Amanda Baker – Family Still Hoping for a Miracle

Our expenses have peaked and our assets have bottomed out.  If you know anyone that would be willing to consider a donation to Mandy’s GoFundMe account, please pass on her information.  We have already had to make terrible choices on putting off items like her high dose fish oil for brain recovery.  We truly feel it was doing her good but the cost is nearly $200 each month.  We receive about 90% of donations because the site has fees but that is a price we have to pay to reach more donors.  If anyone would like to make other donations, please contact us and we can forward our contact info or details on her Amazon Wish List.

We are so blessed to finally be able to bring our daughter Mandy home at last!  We missed her birthday (November 7th) by a few days but we got to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with her at home.

Mandy has always cherished our family get-togethers during the holidays every year.  Our usual clan was together once again with our best friends, Danny and Vicki Wilkins, along with their kids and granddaughter Madison. Then we were able to have dinner with my sister Nancy, niece Jennifer and her beautiful family. Nancy and Jennifer were regular visitors for Mandy while she was at Sabal Palms in Largo for so long.  We are indebted to them always for being there for her whenever we couldn’t.  Thank you so much to everyone that helped make this homecoming possible!

We are Sooooo Thrilled!  Mandy has been home just a week and we already see unbelievable changes in her!  We haven’t witnessed a smile from her since this tragedy began and we saw her smile and even appear to laugh for the first time!  GOD IS AWESOME!  I pray we will continue to see advances in her condition!
